CP 575
CP 575 is the IRS notice confirming that an Employer Identification Number has been assigned to a business. Banks and payment processors accept it as proof of a company's EIN. The IRS issues CP 575 once and does not produce replacement copies.
In plain terms: The IRS letter proving your EIN. You get it once — save it.
Why it matters
Founders who apply online and close the browser without downloading it cannot get another. The substitute is a 147C letter, which requires a phone call to the IRS and a wait, at the exact moment a bank is asking for documentation.
