Acceptable Use Policy
We help people form real companies and keep them compliant. This page is the short list of things we will not help with, and what happens if an account is used for them.
Last updated 29 August 2026
1. Scope
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to everyone using Founders 8, including anyone you give access to your account.
2. Do not use Founders 8 to break the law
- Tax evasion — as distinct from lawful tax planning. We will help you structure a company properly; we will not help you hide income from an authority entitled to see it.
- Money laundering, or moving the proceeds of crime.
- Sanctions evasion, or acting for a person or entity on a sanctions list. We cannot serve customers or companies in jurisdictions under comprehensive U.S. sanctions.
- Fraud of any kind, including invoice fraud and identity fraud.
- Concealing beneficial ownership from a registry, a bank or an authority entitled to it.
3. Do not misrepresent who you are
- Do not give a false name, a false address, or a document that is not yours.
- Do not form an entity for someone whose identity you are hiding from us.
- Do not use a business address we provide as evidence of a physical presence you do not have, where a bank, an authority or a counterparty is relying on it.
Identity checks are not a formality. A partner, a bank or a state will reject a filing built on a false answer, and we are the ones who have to unwind it.
4. Business activities we cannot support
Some activities are lawful but outside what our partners and payment providers will underwrite. We cannot support:
- Unlicensed financial services — deposit-taking, money transmission, lending or investment advice without the licence the activity requires.
- Unregistered securities offerings, or investment schemes that depend on recruiting new investors to pay old ones.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and controlled goods requiring an export licence we cannot verify.
- Controlled substances, and products marketed as treatments without the approval that claim requires.
- Gambling, betting and lotteries in jurisdictions where they are not licensed.
- Content involving minors, non-consensual content, or any content unlawful where it is produced or consumed.
If your business is near one of these lines, ask us before you sign up rather than after. A clear answer early is cheaper than a closed account later.
5. Do not attack the service
- No probing, scanning or testing the security of the platform without our written permission.
- No accessing an account, a document or a record that is not yours.
- No scraping, automated bulk access, or reverse engineering.
- No uploading malware, or anything designed to disrupt the service or the people using it.
If you find a vulnerability, report it through our contact form before doing anything else with it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine finding in good faith and gives us a chance to fix it.
6. Enforcement
Where we can, we ask first: most breaches are a misunderstanding, and a question resolves them. Where the breach is serious — fraud, sanctions, an attack on the platform — we suspend immediately and without notice.
We may suspend or close an account, refuse to instruct a partner, report what the law requires us to report, and decline to act further. We will still let you export your own records, unless a law or an authority prevents it. Closing an account for a breach does not entitle you to a refund of fees for the current period.
